What do I need to do to join the Network?

You need to be part of a small company based in the St Helens area. To start with, all the information you need is basic contact information about your company – trading address, telephone / fax numbers, website address and main contact name and their e-mail address.

Do I register as a supplier or a buyer?

It is up to you! If you register as a supplier you may be contacted regarding new opportunities in the St Helens area. To register as a buyer, you need to be able to contact companies with sub-contract opportunities.



What benefits to the company are there to register on the Network?

There are fantastic opportunities when you register as a supplier. You are making your pre-qualification information available to a range of different buyers who may contact you regarding opportunities in the St Helens area. You will also join a Network of fellow suppliers and be able to contact / be contacted by them in order to potentially work collaboratively with them. You may also feel that you need assistance with some areas of the PQQ. You will be able to click on a “Contact Me” button which will put you in touch with the relevant help.



Is my pre-qualification information secure?

Yes. The unique username and password will only be available for your company. No-one else will be able to add or modify data unless you provide them with your logon details.



Can any other company see my pre-qualification information?

Any buyer registered on the system will be able to view all your pre-qualification information. If you do not wish for a certain buyer to view your information you can do so by clicking into the options section. You can then un-check the tick box by a particular buyers name which will restrict the buying organisation’s access to your basic contact information.

Do I need to complete the form all at once?

No! The form is designed so you can complete as much or as little information in each visit as you can or need to. The information is broken down into sections and you can fill in a section or a part-section at a time.



I am a sole trader / a partnership. Do I need to declare my turnover and accounts?

It is entirely up to you. It would be useful if a buying organisation is able to view all of you pre-qualification information, but if you really do not wish to publish this information, then you would be able to ask buyers to contact you for the information.



How do I attach documents? What type of documents can I use?

In each section of the form, there is an option to upload relevant documents. You can upload any file that is either a Word (.doc) file or an Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) file.



What if I don’t have the documents to attach?

If you do not have a particular procedure or policy, there is assistance available for you. All you need to do is click on the “Contact Me” button. This will put you in touch with a relevant business support agency for help.



Who within my company can input the data?

Whoever is able to fill in the pre-qualification form. If there is a dedicated person within your organisation that fills in pre-qualification forms, then they will be the best person for the task.



I have forgotten my username and password, what can I do?

When you visit the login page, there is an option “I have forgotten my password”. Simply click on this and the nominated e-mail address will be sent a reminder password.



Buyers



What do I need to do to join the Network?

You need to be part of an organisation the purchases a lot of goods, services and sub-contract work. To start with, all the information you need is basic contact information about your company – trading address, telephone / fax numbers, website address and main contact name and their e-mail address.



How do I register?

You need to visit the website (www.bwbportal.com). Click onto the register as a buyer button and follow the on-screen instructions.



What benefits to the company are there to register on the trading portal?

There are fantastic opportunities when you register as a buyer. You will gain access to a range of suppliers whose pre-qualification data will be available for you to view. These companies will supply a range of goods and services and you will be able to contact them when you have viewed their pre-qualification data.



Do I register as a supplier or a buyer?

Can I use my own Pre-Qualification Questionnaire?

Yes you can. If you can provide an electronic copy of the Questionnaire, it will be loaded into the website.



I have specific questions in my Pre-Qualification Questionnaire. What can I do?

The website administrators are able to add in any new questions to ensure that suppliers provide all the pre-qualification information that you need. When you provide the electronic copy of your questionnaire, you will be able to let the administrators know then.



There is new legislation about to come mandatory. How can I ask suppliers to fill in information about this?

The website administrators are able to contact all the suppliers at once. If you have a additional question that needs answering, please contact the administrators and they will be able to contact and inform all the suppliers.



Is there a search facility?

Yes there is. As there are so many suppliers now in the system, you can search according to the nature of business of a company.



Can I search for specific trades?

Yes there is. As there are so many suppliers now in the system, you can search according to the nature of business of a company.



Can I search in a specific geographical location?

Yes. You will be able to search the entire database or you can choose to search solely for St Helens based companies.



Is there a helpline?

Yes there is. You can contact (telephone number) during office hours – Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.



I have forgotten my username and password, what can I do?

When you visit the login page, there is an option “Forget password”. Simply click on this and the nominated e-mail address will be sent a reminder password.
